Jerry Carlson, OD
Dr. Jerry Carlson was raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and is a graduate of Idaho Falls High School. He did undergraduate work at Ricks College and Idaho State University in biology. He graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon.
Jerry completed various rotations in Portland, and Salem, Oregon, and in Salt Lake City at The Eye Institute of Utah. He practiced in Utah for four years before returning to Idaho Falls and opening Aspen Ridge Eye Care in December 2006.
Jerry and his wife, Jennifer, have four children. He enjoys music; playing the guitar and piano; watching his kids participate in sports, dance and music; fly fishing; aquariums and spending time with his family.
Jerry sincerely enjoys spending time with patients. It is important to him that they are educated and made aware of their individual options. He offers comprehensive eye exams, diabetic eye exams, treats macular degeneration and glaucoma, manages and treats ocular diseases, performs pre and post operative care of Lasik and other ocular surgeries, treats pediatric and sports optometry, as well as emergency/trauma care. He also assists in dispensing glasses and contacts.
Lorinda Johnson
Lorinda has lived in Rigby for the last 22 years. She is the mother of 5 children — 2 girls and 3 boys. She is also the grandmother of 3 — 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. She has worked in the eyecare industry for 3 years and is happy to be at Aspen Ridge Eye Care.
Outside of the office Lorinda enjoys sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, cooking, running, decorating and playing with her grandkids.
Shaylynn Alvarez
Shay was born in Riverton, Utah, but has spent the majority of her life in Southeast Idaho. She grew up in Blackfoot and graduated from Snake River High School. Shay and her husband, Jordan have been married for 3 years and recently purchased their first hime right here in Ammon. In her spare time she enjoyed the beautiful mountains of Idaho plus camping, fishing, hiking and hunting with her family.
As a former dental assistant, Shay has always enjoyed the health care field and is happy to be working in optometry with Dr. Carlson. She loves the community of Ammon and looks forward to meeting and serving the great people in Southeast Idaho for many years to come.
